Massachusetts Hoisting Licenses and Temporary Hoisting Permits

We are a State Approved Short Term Rental Entity and can issue Temporary Hoisting Permits

Under Massachusetts Law (520 CMR 6.00) a Hoisting Engineers License is required to operate any equipment “with a minimum capability of hoisting the load higher than ten feet or has the capability of lifting loads greater than 500 pounds or if the capacity of the bucket exceeds 1/4 cubic yard capacity

This includes – Skid Steers (Bobcats), Mini Tracked Loaders, & Mini Excavators

This law is in effect at every rental center in the state.

If you need to use this equipment in Massachusetts, you have two options:

Temporary Permit

Or

Hoisting Engineers License

Temporary permits are available online to home owners and contractors in need of short term use.  This is limited to machines not exceeding 8,000 lb gvw and are good for 14 consecutive days.  After that you must wait 45 days before reapplying for another temporary permit.

Hoisting Engineer License exam is NOT administered online.  You MUST appear before the state to exam for your license.

2A Grade License will license you for Skid Steers, Mini Excavators, & Mini Tracked Loaders.
